Heather Sharpe

founder and ceo, Event Producer, Event Technologist, Event Planner

Heather is a multi-award-winning Event Producer / Director / Planner with many years of experience leading corporate and community strategic initiatives. She has twice produced the largest public event in BC (Honda Celebration of Light 2014 & 2015) as well as the largest New Year’s Eve event in Canada (Vancouver 2015).

In her role as the Owner and CEO of Sherpa Group Events Inc., she leads all Creative Design, Client Management and Business Development, while elevating the strength, skills and diversity of a team of passionate event professionals.

With a track record of 28 nominations (and subsequently many awards) for event and business awards, Heather is a leader in the industry.  She regularly speaks to industry organizations internationally on world-class event practices. Her passion for the event industry leads her to teach the next generation of event planners through the internationally acclaimed Events Leadership Institute.

Sunney weir


Sunney is an enthusiastic Event Specialist with diverse knowledge of the event industry! After securing her Certificate in Applied Business Technology at Thompson Rivers University and supporting her community’s social events, Sunney levelled up in 2018 by completing a Diploma in Events and Promotions Management at the Centre for Arts and Technology.
Her passion for the events industry combined with her education and previous experience made her an unstoppable force as she took on a variety of roles in the Tourism and Hospitality industry.  After completing multiple event contracts and volunteer roles, Sunney is now a full-time Event Specialist utilizing her planning skills and creative abilities to deliver her clients the event of their dreams.
Whether it is a wedding (wait did we mention she is also a Certified Wedding Planner!?), corporate conference or a non-profit fundraiser, Sunney is organized and eager.  She is an outgoing, cooperative, team player who leverages her passion for events and the non-profit community to facilitate memorable events.



Sue came to the event industry, after starting as an Architectural Technologist and putting 7 years into drafting.

She rocked the transitioned by attending Mount Royal University for Marketing and Strategic Communications Program and joined Meeting Professionals International (MPI) for four years where she received the Volunteer of the Year award.

Her rockstar personality is much better suited to her role in events and now having been in the industry for over 10 years with a wide range of experience in conferences, incentive programs, AGM’s, galas, tradeshows, and on-line / hybrid events. She is loving every day!

Her attention to detail and eye for floor plans and venue space is a huge asset when it comes to exhibit halls and room layouts.

Sue brings her outgoing, energetic personality to every event she tackles; her enthusiasm is infectious!

nikki lajeunesse


Nikki is a skilled event manager with over 15 years of experience coordinating, managing, and executing memorable events.

Nikki has produced a variety of event styles from intimate gatherings to large-scale community events working with organizations such as the BC Sports Hall of Fame, the City of New Westminster, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Coast BC. Nikki’s enthusiasm for events is centered around her love of bringing people together to build community and create long lasting memories.

She prides herself on having a creative mindset along with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. She loves working with clients to exceed their event visions using her experience, local supplier networks and imaginative flare. 

Nikki is dedicated to best-in-class event execution and comprehensive service and looks forward to supporting your next event.

aMANDA stephenson


With over a dozen years in the event industry, Amanda has managed and executed conferences, retreats, weddings, and galas. As every event requires the same level of detail, organization, and creativity,

Amanda has found that magical balance between design and execution, corporate and not-for-profit, not only creating the vision but following through on the details.

With her background in theatre arts, Amanda has always been passionate about creating events that truly tell a story. Guests will understand the vision for your event from that first email or invitation through the moment of your event. Every story is unique and every event is unique so Amanda rises to the occasion of every challenge with a smile and positive approach. Amanda calls the shores of Ghost Lake, AB home and when she’s not creating your event, she can be found paddleboarding, playing with her kitties, or spending time with her family and friends.

Rebecca Grant


Rebecca is a seasoned Event Specialist with 20 years of extensive experience in live event planning and production.

With over 15 years as a Game Entertainment and Community Events Manager in the Western Hockey League (WHL), National Hockey League (NHL) and Major League Soccer (MLS), her track record includes a wide array of events. Ranging from prestigious sporting events to elegant charity galas and corporate award shows and includes some of the most notable events in recent Vancouver history, such as the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Rebecca is passionate about crafting unforgettable experiences and prides herself on her adaptability to various event types. She excels in providing tailored solutions that align with a client’s distinct needs and visions.

Renowned for her meticulous attention to detail and highly organized approach, Rebecca tackles each event with precision in planning and execution. Her unwavering dedication is focused on delivering a memorable experience for both clients and guests.

John Sharpe

Production Manager

A highly accomplished Project Manager and Audio Engineer, John’s career spans over 30 years in the live events industry and with 8 years in the electronics design industry as an RF Engineer.  In addition to his decades of hands-on professional experience, John holds a diploma in Telecommunication Electronics Engineering from BCIT.

In the past 10 years, John has directly project managed hundreds of live, hybrid and online events and assisted with project management or systems design on hundreds more.  John has had the privilege of working with some of the world’s most recognizable music artists including Paul Simon, Sarah McLachlan, Chris Martin, Josh Groban, Stevie Nicks, Blue Rodeo and Jann Arden as well as notable speakers including Presidents Barack H. Obama, George W. Bush & William J. Clinton, Sir Richard Branson and His Holiness The Dali Lama.
